I am a professional game developer with 10+ years of experience in the video game industry seeking a senior design role at an established studio. I am experienced in level design, game design, scripting, programming, modeling, and project management. I am most passionate about game and system design and how mechanics come together to create something unique and enjoyable. I believe the designer's role is to serve as the advocate for the player throughout development to ensure the best possible player experience.
I graduated from the Guildhall at SMU with a Masters of Interactive Technology in Digital Game Development (Level Design specialization). After graduation, I worked at Insomniac Games as a Scripter on Rachet and Clank: A Crack In Time, and on the preproduction of Fuse, Insomniac's first multi-platform effort. After that, I founded a company called ByteSize Games and acted as Creative Lead for its first two titles: FlipShip and Little Labyrinths. Finally, I spent the last four years working for Backflip Studios on a variety of mobile titles. I worked on several titles as the primary designer and also worked with a number of external studios as part of Backflip's publishing efforts.
I am excited to return to more mainstream game design where I can focus on fun and the player experience. I can't wait to get back to working with a larger team and on projects with greater reach.
